Run For Freedom. Founded 2007

Run For Freedom came about during the lead up to the 2007 celebrations of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade March 25, 1807

200 years after the abolition, it was horrendous and shocking to realise that so many people are still enslaved around the world today, not exactly something to celebrate.

Direct descendants of  William Wilberforce are proud of his achievements, and fellow abolitionists like Olaudah Equiano.

What all of those involved in the fight against slavery achieved, was no mean feat. They dedicated their lives to stop the abhorrent trade in the buying and selling of people. That's why it's so distressing that over 200 years on from their life's work and devotion, people are still being bought and sold.

People trafficking is the transport and / or trade of people. It is estimated that over 12 MILLION men, women and children are trafficked into slavery.

Wilberforce's today, decided with friends to start the conversation, spread the word and help raise awareness of people trafficking. Supporting and helping to raise funds for anti- slavery and anti-trafficking organisations.

To date, we have raised over £2000 and $11,000 respectfully.
